We present a collection of lovingly preserved and restored classical electrotheraputic devices for your edification and experience. While the violet ray device, Electreat Mechanical Heart, Davis & Kidder Patent Magneto-Electric Machine, Auto-Kure Medical Battery, and Bunnel Faradic equipment are pretty well guaranteed not to cure your catarrh, phthisis, dropsy, hysteria, or neurasthenia; you are guaranteed to find interacting with them to be…stimulating. Those of you with Borg implants, implanted biomedical devices, or Dalek Servitor enhancements should be aware that these devices produce electrical stimulations and Tesla discharges refined to 19th century standards, and limit direct contact accordingly if required by your implants.
During Victorian time, dancing was considered a very important social skill.
Come let Lady De L’Etoile teach you some dance basics in Learn to Waltz, Learn to Tango and Learn to Foxtrot workshops and you’ll soon be setting the dance floor on fire!
Learn to Tango
The tango originated in the 1880’s in the lower class districts of Buenos Aires and Montevideo. This sultry partnered dance is characterized by long elegant steps followed by quick syncopated and sharp movements.
This workshop will focus on basic steps so don’t worry if you have never danced before! Lady De L’etoile will have you steaming up the dance floor in no time.
Learn To Waltz / Learn to Waltz 2
Shocking when it was first introduced in Vienna in 1780’s because of the close proximity of the dancers, the waltz soon spread to become popular across Europe and is still popular today. Even if you have never danced before, Lady De L’Etoile’s easy teaching style will have you spinning and gliding like a pro.
Learn to Waltz 2 will be a class with more advanced steps for those who have attended Learn to Waltz in previous years.
Learn to Foxtrot
A slightly more modern dance, the foxtrot was developed around 1910 and is still practiced today. The movement is similar to the waltz but is performed in 4/4 time instead of 3/4. Its long, continuous movements are fun and easy to learn, so come dance with Lady De L’Etoile in an era slightly more dieselpunk feel.
